When this assurance and tax consultant started his career he was sure only of two things – doing different things and doing things differently. It’s no wonder then, that when RE/MAX organization; a global leader in real estate sales operating in 74 countries chose to enter India, Sam Chopra was an obvious choice to head this venture.
Having completed his graduation from India’s most reputed institute Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University he went on to become a chartered accountant. His association with his alma mater remains even today and besides being a member, he has also been a former convener, NIRC, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
His farsighted approach has helped him tap various business opportunities at the right time. In 1996, when he saw an opportunity in Business process outsourcing, he promoted CybizCall International Pvt. Ltd. As a result of his outstanding contribution to the growth of ITES in India he was accorded with the Presidentship at the Business Process Industry Association of India and membership of ITES Committee, Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC). He has also been an associate member of NASSCOM in India.
He thinks, despite a global meltdown, India has shown resilience and therefore is full of opportunity. He opines that, Indian real estate sales market is unorganized and is more often than not weighed down by fallacious and malevolent practices. Consequently there’s an urgent need for a strong player like RE/MAX to add technology and know how into this sector.
Senior Partner at PK Chopra & Company, he also has a HSMI Certification through the National Real Estate Council and is a Board Member of Association of Property Professionals, National Association of Realtors-India, making him a perfect fit for the RE/MAX network.
Owing to his strong entrepreneurial skills and magnificent contribution to the Indian industrial growth he received numerous memberships of councils and committees like Services Council, Association’s Council, Knowledge Mission and Subcommittee on India – EU Bilateral Trade and Investment Agreement (BITA) of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). He has also been a former convener of Infrastructure Committee, Haryana State Council at CII.
His expertise in Accounting, Assurance, Corporate Finance and Business Planning has earned him the position of Regional Chairman, Australasia (Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand) for IAPA International which is a global association of 230 independent accountancy firms and groups with presence in more than 50 countries.
Charter Member, Tie, former Rotarian and National Convener of Round Table International, his achievements have recognized no boundaries of thought, substance or time period.
Wearing his different hats, he has successfully carried out his business operations sharing a passion for sports, books and traveling. And when it comes to family, his time management skills have always come handy.
